To All Journey Theater “Our Gang” Parents

We need assistant ushers for the performances of “HONK”! 

If your child would like to usher or pass out programs please contact

We need two ushers for each of the following shows:

• Friday, March 1 – 7:00 Show (arrive by 6:30 pm)

• Saturday, March 2 – 7:00 Show (arrive by 6:30 pm)

• Friday, March 8 – 7:00 Show (arrive by 6:30 pm)

• Saturday, March 9 – 3:00 Show (arrive by 2:30 pm)

• Saturday, March 9 – 7:00 Show (arrive by 6:30 pm)

• Sunday, March 10 – 2:00 Show (arrive by 1:30 pm)

Siblings of cast and crew who are not in "Our Gang" are welcome to come and usher as well!

Ushers are welcome to stay and watch the show as our guests.

Find your character and see what hairstyle you will need for the show.

You will come to the theater each day with your hair done in your assigned hairstyle.

Ticket Sales

Ticket Sales Update

Our Ticket sales for school day shows are great! Our 11:45 school day show is sold out, and our 9:30 show is getting pretty full as well!

Our ticket sales for our public performances are super low.
We have just over 250 tickets sold, which is great, but we have room for a lot more!
We can seat 500 people at each show.

Remember to pass out bookmarks to your friends and family.

You can post a link for our show on facebook to let people know about our show.

On our Journey Theater site you can go to our Vancouver area show page and send a personal email to friends and family inviting them to see you in this fantastic show!

HONK! is such a fun and entertaining show, and our cast and crew are making it absolutely fantastic!
Help get the word out about the show so you can play to a full house each night!!

Weekend Reminders for Feb. 15th and 16th

Friday Feb 15th 

5pm-9pm

2nd Act Stumble Through: All cast and crew are called for Friday night rehearsal.

Remember to bring:

1. Script/binder and pencil
2. water bottle 
3. dinner
4. Secret  Pal Form

We will not have pizza available on Friday, so remember to bring a snack or dinner with you!

Reminder:

Secret Pal Forms are due Friday Night.

If you are planning to participate in Secret Pals, bring your completed secret pal form Friday night.

The secret pal form is posted on the forms and lists tab of the call board if you need extra forms.

Parent Meeting

We will be having our 2nd Parent meeting Friday night from 6pm-9pm

We will be meeting in the Fireside Room at First Church of God(the fireside room is downstair(s, just inside the front entrance to the church. Look for the Journey Theater sign.)

Saturday Feb. 16th

9am-1pm

Full Show Run Through: All cast and crew are called for rehearsal on Saturday.

Remember to bring:

1. Script/binder and pencil
2. water bottle and lunch

Make up Training

All first time cast members will be having make up training during rehearsal on Saturday.

If this is your first time on cast please bring 

1. a mirror
2.  make up sponges
3. headband(to keep hair off face)
4. mascara

If you ordered make up, it will be at rehearsal for you on Saturday.

Pizza

Pizza will be available for lunch at rehearsal on Saturday.

Pizza is $1.50 per slice.

Water bottles will be available for 50 cents each.

Make up Training

Make-up Traning for first time cast members during reherasal on Saturday February 16th

Please bring: 

1.  a mirror (on a stand)
2. a headband  - to keep hair out of your face (boys and girls)
3. mascara
4. make-up sponges

We'll have make-up kits on Saturday for those who ordered them

Shoes

HONK!  Footwear descriptions

*for any of the “farmyard” scenes, cast will be representing a random farm poultry character (bird, chicken, quail, peacock, duck, etc…)through costume.  Their footwear is the primary cue for the audience to recognize the symbolism.  Therefor… cast will have either orange, yellow, burgundy, brown or black shoes.  Obviously; black and brown options are easy to acquire.  The other colors will be created via spraypaint by our costume committee.  If you are assigned a orange, yellow or burgundy shoe for your farmyard costume, we are asking that you bring in a pair of shoes that can be painted.  An old pair of character shoes, or leather loafer shoe…  whatever is easy!  We’re hoping that you can find these at a Goodwill or in the back of your closet.. we certainly don’t want it to be a big expense.  Canvas shoes will not work as they soak up too much paint.  Please bring your shoe to the parent meeting next week with your childs’ name clearly marked on tape on the bottom of each shoe.  Our committee will spray paint the desired colors.  These shoes will remain in show boxes for the run of the show and be returned to you afterwards.

Froglets will need to pay $5 at 2^nd parent meeting for shoes.  Checks to Jodi Childs

4 ducklings will need to pay $4 for orange shoes.  Checks to Jodi Childs
9 Cat dancers will need to pay $7-$9 for matching fishnet hose. Checks to Jodi Childs.

*Please remember to bring your old pair of shoes to be painted (if applicable to you).  If you have extra pairs that you want to shair with another family.. bring them too!

Character Shoes
Character Shoes can be purchased at Competitive Edge in Vancouver or The Leotard in Portland.
Both places will give a discount if you tell them that you are with Journey Theater.
Kara's Dance Studio also has used shoes for sale.
